Auxiliary Roll Coating Specialists
Tough coatings that help your mill rolls last longer and keep your line running.
Longer Roll Life - More hours between changes
Less Downtime - Fewer unplanned stops
Wear & Rust Proof - Handles heat and abrasion
Fast Turnaround - Planned around shutdowns

Auxiliary rolls face constant friction, heat, water and chemicals. Over time the surface wears, the strip slips and the roll must be changed. A hard coating protects the surface and keeps it working longer.
Different rolls need different coatings. Here is what we offer and where each one works best.

High wear resistance under heavy friction
Controlled surface grip and traction
Longer production service life
Best for: Bridle, tension, and pinch rolls

Reliable in high-heat thermal zones
Wide range of engineered alloys
Strong metallurgical bond on steel cores
Best for: Furnace, hearth, and guide rolls

Ultra-smooth, uniform surface finish
Resists corrosive process chemicals
Stops adhesive build-up and ink residue
Best for: Paper, film, and printing rolls

Extremely dense coating layer
Industry-leading bond strength
Ultra-low porosity for moisture sealing
Best for: High-speed and high-load rolls

Dense, low-porosity coatings
Lower heat input with less oxidation
Excellent wear & corrosion resistance
Best for: high-speed and high-load rolls

Restore to original size
Fresh protective wear surface applied
Ground to exact size and surface finish
Best for: Worn, scored, or undersize rolls (ready to install)

Hold strip tension along the continuous processing line.
Tungsten Carbide
Turn the strip to a new path while maintaining high surface finish.
Carbide / Ceramic
Grip and push the strip forward without slippage or marking.
Tungsten Carbide
Keep the strip flat and balanced under high line velocity.
Tungsten Carbide
Carry continuous steel strip through extreme furnace temperatures.
Plasma Spray
Operate submerged inside molten zinc baths on galvanizing lines.
Carbide Coating
Support and steer heavy material without abrasion or gouging.
Carbide / Metal
Specialized paper, film, textile, and industrial printing lines.
Ceramic

Industries like aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, power generation, and marine greatly benefit from HVOF coatings due to their superior durability, corrosion resistance, and ability to handle harsh operating environments.
Coating an existing roll core typically costs 30% to 50% of the replacement price for a new forged alloy roll. Furthermore, applied tungsten carbide or ceramic surfaces offer 2x to 4x longer operational wear life than un-coated OEM tool steel cores.
HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) coating is a thermal spray process where fuel and oxygen create a high-velocity flame that melts and accelerates powder particles onto a substrate, forming a dense, durable coating.
All grinding, crowning, and finishing operations are conducted in-house on heavy-duty CNC cylindrical grinders fitted with diamond wheels. We hold strict dimensional tolerances, profile geometry, and continuous surface roughness across the entire roll face.
Depending on your process requirements, we can provide mirror finishes down to Ra < 0.05 µm (2 µin) for critical surface-sensitive strip processing, up to textured traction profiles of Ra 3.0–6.0 µm for high-grip bridle rolls.
Our high-capacity lathes and robotic spray cells handle rolls up to 1,800 mm in diameter, 7,500 mm in total length, and individual workpieces weighing up to 12 metric tons.
